Welcome to the Star Lake Elementary School library! My name is Ms. Groshell and I’m very excited to get to have your child in library class. I give lessons and do library checkout with every class alongside our library clerk, Mrs. Walker, every six school days. Please see the schedule from your child’s classroom teacher for what days books need to be either returned or renewed – we know it changes every week and can be hard to keep track. During our lessons, we will learn about book care, digital citizenship, hour of code and how to find good fit books. Kindergarten to second grade students will also read all of the Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award nominees for 2025. Third to Fifth grade students will learn about library orientation, how to search for books on Destiny, find them in the library and put them back where they belong.
